Prosjekt: Wooden handwork/Wooden Carpentry: European restoration sites
The contribution intends to present how the research on wooden cultural heritage can promote policies in European Countries through a concrete approach of transfer of knowledge from theory to practice in the field of restoration, re-use, technological innovation in wooden constructions with special care to environmental aspects.
"Wooden Handwork / Wooden Carpentry: European Restoration Sites" was a 3- year EU Culture 2000 Project with partners from 9 European Countries. The approach was multidisciplinary, involving National Boards of Antiquities, architects, engineers, researchers, SMEs, carpenters, universities. The general objectives were addressed to the conservation and preservation of the Heritage of knowledge and practice of wood-working: enhancement of cultural differences and interaction among scientists and craftsmen; implementation of workshops on different European sites; realisation of prototypes. 3 books were published.
