European Network of Opera Academies

Den Nye Opera er norsk deltaker i dette flerårige prosjektet med elleve partnere fra ti land. Prosjektet ledes av festivalen i d'Aix-en-Provance, FR og går over fem år. 18.03.2011.

Prosjekt: European Network of Opera Academies

ENOA is a platform of professional artistic and cultural organizations working in the field of opera.

The aim of ENOA is to train young professionals (singers, composers, stage directors, librettists, conductors, pianists...) and help bridge the gap between studies and professional work by:

- Organizing workshops (master classes and tuitions)

- Facilitating mobility for artists and teachers

- Encouraging opera creations accessible to a large variety of audiences

- Initiating seven co-productions (mainly co-commissions) and their dissemination in several partner countries with the main focus on participation of young artists

- Encouraging the creation and development of opera academies

ENOA was founded in early 2009. In 2010, 10 workshops were already organized benefiting about 50 young artists. More than 900 artists will benefit from ENOA activities over five years. The network intends to reinforce collaboration and exchanges between East-West and North-South of Europe to share knowledge of training opportunities.

ENOA's European vocation is to develop opera training through the extension of cultural cooperation between opera houses and academies, festivals, producers, artists and theatre professionals and to develop synergies at Europe-wide level thanks to mutual exchange of experiences.

We attribute many perspectives to ENOA's development:

- Help to develop talented artists in all fields of opera and music theatre

- Strengthen organizations by the sharing of good practice

- Strengthen artistic work and attain high level of excellence

- Bridge gap between school and work

- Complete the preparation of the artistic teams at different levels of creation

- Help the creation and development of young artist programmes (ex: Warsaw, Riga, Lisbon, Athens...)

- Share knowledge of respective artistic skills across Europe

We, European Cultural Operators, gathered in order to build a solid network of opera and lyric art professionals throughout Europe.
