Opera Vest i Bergen ledet samarbeidsprosjektet mellom musikkteatre i Wales og Nederland om en forestilling av den britiske komponisten Nigel Osborne.

During the summer and autumn 2002, Music Theatre Wales toured The Electrification of the Soviet Union. This was a new chamber version by Nigel Osborne, commissioned by Music Theatre Wales. The 3 companies participating will produce the opera and perform it in all 3 countries. It requires 7 singers and an orchestra of 14 musicians as well as stage design and direction.
The aim is to further advance the understanding and knowledge of contemporary opera; to expand the artistic programme and artistic capacity of the operators, to promote exchange of ideas and experiences and to restore this specific work to a wide public and promote the work of this British composer.
