Visual Community Network
Bergen kunstmuseum er en av fem kunstinstitusjoner i fem europeiske land som deltok i dette nettverket, som er ledet av Bildmuseet i Sverige.
Prosjekt: Visual Community Network
The Visual Community Network is an ongoing project between five art institutions in Europe: BALTIC, The Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead, England; the Bergen Art Museum in Norway; the BildMuseet, Umeå University, Sweden, the Nederlands fotomuseum in Rotterdam, The Netherlands and the Porin Taidemuseo in Pori, Finland.
Five visual artists are commissioned to produce a work of art, which will then be exhibited by the producing institution. A series of seminars and publications focusing on the creative process and community interaction/access to the project and contemporary art in general will follow. The exhibition will be accompanied by a multimedia publication, website and publications.
The objective is to promote professional exchange activities; capacity building and networking among the participating institutions will be promoted.
